  • 1940s cabinet, originally made as part of the Utility furniture scheme which was launched post WW11, as a way of mass producing furniture for the young families starting homes on their return from the war effort, and using surplus materials leftover meaning it could be produced at an affordable price point. It’s the kind of furniture that one would keep Odds and Sods in, a phrase which dates back to around the same time.
