Nick Potter

It was during his time living in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside and fuelled by frequent visits to Cornwall, Scotland and the Lake District in the early 1980s that Nick became interested in painting landscapes. This led to years of experimentation with different media and to his discovery of the vibrancy of acrylic inks, when used like watercolour paints.

In 2003 Nick and his wife became partners in the Charisma Gallery in Matlock. The gallery showcased Nick’s works along with other artists and craftspeople from all around the UK. Owning an art gallery had always been a dream of Nick’s and this gave him the confidence he needed to take his art to the next level, professionally publishing his work and exhibiting in galleries throughout Britain.

Nicks love of wild landscapes continues to fuel his desire to paint. He now lives yards from the sea in Embleton on the Northumberland coast where he is inspired by these wonderful landscape and seascapes every day.
