Martin Robson

Staffordshire based wildlife artist Martin Robson was born in 1969 on the edge of Cannock Chase, it was there he gained his affection and inspiration for wildlife and art as a child. His natural ability for art later lead him to complete a BA Honours degree in graphic design from Staffordshire Art College and Wolverhampton University.

Martin then went on to become a Graphic Artist in the gaming industry where he developed characters, backdrops and animations for commercial video games where he later became Creative Director.

After 25 years in the gaming industry Martin decided to return to his passion for art and become a full-time, self-employed artist. He began by painting commissions of people’s pets but has since moved on to large scale, hyper-realistic wildlife paintings with the intention of capturing the unique spirit of each individual animal he paints and to create a sense of intimacy, he successfully does so by working from strong photographs. Beginning with the eyes he focuses on subtle lighting and reflections to capture the life and soul of the animal he is trying to encapsulate.

Martin’s overall affection for wildlife, attention to detail and incredible talent is truly evident in each of his original artworks that will certainly add high impact to any room in which it is displayed.
