Kara is a self taught artist, painting on canvas in vibrant acrylic. Her atmospheric paintings beautifully interpret her love for British Coastlines, woodlands and flowers.
She has been sketching since an early age but her interest in painting flowers developed after she completed her further education studies in floristry. She went on to open her own flower shop in North London where she could focus on flower arranging as well as her passion for painting. Her knowledge allows her to capture the distinctive characteristics of flowers and plants.
Kara was born in Southport, North West England but moved to Staffordshire in her twenties. There she began painting in historical gardens and exhibiting her work with the National Trust. This is where her fascination with English gardens and woodlands began.
Kara currently designs and paints large 3D anamorphic artworks for museums, local authorities, educational establishments and even multinational companies.
Kara spends the rest of her time in her studio gallery, ‘The Art Loft’ where she has been holding solo exhibitions, selling her artwork and running painting workshops since 2007.
In more recent years Kara can be found rediscovering her roots traveling the British Coastline of Southport Beach. She interprets the mood and atmosphere of the sea and skyline as well as the romanticism of it all.
Her artwork can be found all over the U.K and overseas.
