Joss Clapson
Joss continuously draws from her childhood having grown up in the Essex countryside. Self-taught, she experiments with a variety of mediums from Ink and pastels to charcoal and oils. Taking inspiration from the reckless youth culture of the 60s Joss has managed to develop a distinctive style.
Her passion for the fashion and culture of this era features heavily in her work and by using unconventional skin tones cleverly blended with a unique and eccentric style she brings each scene to life .
I've always considered colour and texture to be the two main elements in my paintings, the colour helps to captivate the subject with the texture creating a careless and disordered feel to each piece.
