Craig Foord

Craig John Foord was born in Brighton in 1986. He obtained a National Diploma in Art and Design at Eastbourne College and went on to become a tree surgeon before revisiting his ‘roots’ in the art field.

Craig draws inspiration from this previous profession, where the characteristic circular shapes of a tree serve as the foundation for his abstract pieces. He has always had a strong emotional connection to space and the exploration of planets which is also evident in his recent works. There is a clear connection between nature and design and the way these elements are ultimately combined in his work is truly mesmerizing.

Craig’s use of Resin is also predominant in his work, be it the finishing touch to his abstract paintings, bringing out the vibrancy of his colours or be it the primary medium from which he creates his freestanding sculptures, he successfully manages to captivate the viewer and portray his passion for the natural world as well as the outer world.
