Art and creativity has always been an important part of Amy’s life, combined with her love of wildlife, she now creates distinctively charming and joyful animal portraits.
Her vibrant use of colour and mixed media brings these beautiful original portraits to life, paired with the clever use of Farrow and Ball muted backgrounds, means each piece will sit comfortably in any home.
Amy turned down a place at a Grammar School to study English Literature in order to complete an Art Degree at Lincoln Art College. It was here, she finally had the opportunity and resources to experiment with a variety of creative practices and discover her passion for textiles. From there she went on to study Fashion Design and graduated from The University of Lincoln in 2011.
Following her graduation, Amy completed a residency in Sweden for a Festival, where she worked on designing and producing elaborate and exquisite costumes for the dancers of the Carnival.
It is clear that her knowledge and background in fashion inspires the paintings we see from her today. Her vibrant and somewhat cheeky characters, come to life and each display their own unique personality through her illustrative style.
“I like that my paintings seem to make people smile or even laugh! It's great that a painting can have that affect on a person." Says Amy.
