Alison Johnson

Working from her converted home studio based in Coventry, Alison produces the emotionally charged atmospheric oil paintings we have come to love today.

Alison's interest in nature and non-materialistic beauty has been a constant source of passion since childhood, paired with her passion for travel and music, she uses painting as a form of expression and translation. 

Be it relationships between people, the struggles of life or the ever changing but constant landscapes around her, these feelings are transferred onto canvas in each of Alison's uniquely emotive pieces.

Known for her abstract seascapes and more recently, abstract cityscapes, Alison successfully creates a sense of movement through the use of colour, light and balance. With deep, brooding skies, restless waves and flashes of light she has modernised traditional techniques and brought her work to the forefront of contemporary art. Alison’s work has been described as an interior designer’s dream, as each piece serves as a dramatic focal point in any room and create a lasting impression.

Following a long career in nursing, Alison now enjoys a successful full-time career as a professional artist, exhibiting and selling her work on a worldwide scale. From the Waldorf Hotel in London and reaching as far as Saudi Arabia where The Prince himself boasts a personal commission!
