Born in 1968 in Cheshire, Rob Hefferan has always painted obsessively from an early age. Following a successful career in advertising and painting in the evenings, he finally became a full-time artist in 2003 after much-anticipated debut show sold out in only two hours.
Painting with oils and acrylics on canvas, Rob’s style is photorealism with each of his incredibly life-like figures taking approximately 150 hours to complete. This exceptionally talented artist captures the character and warmth of each of his subjects. He uses colour, light and textures to reflect the vibrancy of life.
Heavily influenced by the grand masters of the Pre-Raphaelite movement whose principal artists believed in an art of serious subjects treated with maximum realism, Rob captures every minute detail of his subjects – nothing goes unnoticed.
