Growing up on the East Coast of Scotland, Jackie takes her inspiration from this experience of rural living, the countryside and the sea.
Now based in Glasgow and loving the hussle and bussle of big city life, Jackie surrounds herself with new inspiration for her paintings; whether its flowers, music, teacups, teapots or whatever she sees in her day-to-day life.
Jackie works predominately in acrylics; building up the layers and alternating paint with glaze to allow her to rub back to reveal the layers of colour. She also uses textures with lace and other textiles to add another level of interest.
When not painting, Jackie continues to enjoy life in Glasgow and is immersing herself in all the art galleries and theatres the city has to offer. She is also an avid knitter, reader and cyclist!
